Introduction

Super Paper Mario took sole residence on the cover of issue 9, as they got a full hands on of an almost finished build of the game. They covered some of the greatest aspects of the game as well as a competition to win a Wii and the game. They also went to the Game Developers Conference in Spain and got their hands on various new games, including Mario Galaxy, Mario Party 8 and Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass. In the news they looked at various aspects of the Wii and how it was taking over the gaming world. They also looked at what some of the big game publishers were looking to bring to Wii in the coming months.

Once again, there weren’t any big hitters released this month, however there were several games hitting the 80% mark. Heatseaker and Mercury Meltdown Revolution both scored 80% on Wii, whilst on DS Theme Park, Zendoku, Sim City and Harvest Moon were also there or thereabout the 80% mark. The UK update of Hotel dusk was the biggest scoring review at 84%, although it was only a very short column.

A feature also looked at gaming heaven and hell, including all the aspects the team loved about gaming and those they really hated. World of Nintendo found even more things to do with the Wii, including the ability to play imported Gamecube games. They also made a crude recreation of the NGamer office in Eledees, and Mathew visited New York to take in Comic Con.

In Download this issue, they looked at Irem, the creator of R-Type and various other arcade games. With Mortal Kombat on Virtual Console they looked at some of the most memorable moments from the games. Over on Virtual Console, Neo Geo was announced, so they looked at some of the games that they hoped would make it to the console. There were also plenty of Virtual Console games coming soon, so they checked out 25 classic games confirmed for the next few months.
