Introduction

Back in late 2010, all the talk was about the soon to be released 3DS, and the biggest news was that the UK launch had been dated, and was only four months away! The team also got a chance to look again at some of the biggest launch titles, such as Street Fighter IV 3D and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater. In other news, the Wii Remote with built in Motion Plus was announced, along with some special limited edition DS designs for Mario’s 25th Anniversary.

Big previews this issue looked at some of the Wii games set for the holiday season, such as the unique Kirby’s Epic Yarn and the remake of Goldeneye 007. The Last Story was also previewed, which was actually one of the last games to be released on Wii.

The big review (and cover story) was Sonic Colours, which scored an admirable 86%, a damn sight better than a lot of other Sonic Games on Wii. Super Scribblenauts was also reviewed, getting 83%. FIFA and Pro Evo also got their annual releases, Pro Evo narrowly winning, and scoring 79% to FiFA’s 78%. As always there was plenty of guff shovelware, with Face Training being the weirdo of the bunch, and actually failing to get a documented score.

In the World of Nintendo features, they looked at Donkey Kong, and the timeline of who the actual Donkey Kong (and indeed Donkey JR) was.There was also some quick tips for Professor Layton, and looked at interesting Facebook pages dedicated to Nintendo gamers.

Within World of Pokemon, the team were gushing over Pokemon Black and White, which had just hit the DS in Japan. The team gave the game 85%, praising some of the new changes, although the import version was quite confusing.

Download looked at the history of Street Fighter, as well as how California appeared in Video Games. The team also looked at Paradroid as a Virtual Console essential.
